Creating or Making a Will

Creating a will allows you to determine the distribution of your money, property, and possessions following your demise.

By having a will, you can also ensure that you don’t pay more Inheritance Tax than necessary.

It is important to note that there are separate regulations for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

While it is possible to draft your own will, seeking advice is recommended if your situation is not straightforward.

To ensure the legal validity of your will, it must be formally witnessed and signed.

If you wish to make changes to your will, you can either create an official alteration known as a ‘codicil’ or prepare an entirely new will.

IMPORTANT: In the event of passing away without a will, the law determines the beneficiaries and their respective shares.
